Welcome!

This page was created in response to a community-based research project about barriers and enablers to inclusion in mainstream settings here in Waitaha Canterbury, as part of Massey University's  Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching (CEN). The results of my research showed that many kaiako wished for more support with inclusive practice, and often did not know where to begin. As a Digital Technologies Teacher working in a special school setting,  I wanted to combine my practice and my learning to create something useful for my community. 

This site is intended to offer ideas, resources and information to support kaiako.  I have also added a link to a regional support directory created by another course peer from my programme, and to specialist schools in our area with an active Outreach programme.

The website  was created collaboratively with kaiako and other professionals, and feedback and/or contributions are very welcome.
